Public Legal Education Network

Couple 5 with form new

Law affects most aspects of our daily lives; it shape's our life choices and our relationships. Yet many of us don't understand the legal system, or know about our legal rights and how best to exercise them. Law-related events such as relationship breakdown or employment problems can cause worry, stress, and even lead to ill-health or the loss of a home or income.

Public legal education aims to equip people with the knowledge, skills and confidence to understand about rights and obligations, and to know how and where to get help. Being able to manage law-related issues means people can prevent problems and pursue opportunites, and encourages civic engagement and community action.
