Streetlaw Plus

Streetlaw Plus is an innovative way of bringing law students, under supervision, into the community. The students deliver presentations, events and clinics in schools, women’s shelters and prisons within 'New Deal for Communities' (NDC) areas of Doncaster, on legal issues which often the community groups themselves will suggest. Most of the activity is improving the level of understanding in the community (focusing on letter-writing and legal advice clinics).

The PLE element of the Streetlaw Plus service is pro-active (presentations and events), although some of the attendance may be in response to a specific issue. Other services (the letter-writing service and legal advice clinic) are reactive, as clients will use them to address a problem that has already been identified.
